Congratulations to our very own Jim Rondenelli who is marking another year behind a hot microphone!

Jim's radio career started on February 27, 1982. Back 37 years ago, he began working radio stations KG 104 FM (which is today Big Frog 104.3) and WRUN-AM, which were simulcasting the same feed over their FM and AM signals. Over the years, most of Jim's assignments have revolved around coverage of local and national news, sporting events, and countless CNY signature events, like the WIBX Heart Radiothon and the Boilermaker to name a few.

Jim was also the public address voice the NY Penn League's Utica Blue Sox in 1984.

He recalls his first assignment in radio was covering a local sporting event - high school hockey playoffs featuring Clinton vs. New Hartford at the Clinton Arena!

You may wonder: What do you get for working in radio for 37 years?  And, It's a fair question.

Well, I offered to buy Jim lunch today. He said, ''No thanks, I brought my own.''

Now serving as WIBX News Director - which includes disseminating news and information to our sister stations Big Frog 104, Lite 98.7, 96.1 The Eagle and 96.9 WOUR - Jim can be heard providing top of the hour news updates Monday through Friday on WIBX 950 AM, Your News, Talk and Sports Leader.
