Williams Recognizes UPD Officers For Handling Of Shooting Victim
Utica Police Chief Mark Williams is recognizing two officers for their handling and care of the victim of a recent shooting on the 1500 block of Conkling Avenue.
Williams says the victim had lost a considerable amount of blood and was losing consciousness.
He says UPD Officers Aaron Llewellyn and Dan Mahaffy provided life saving techniques by applying a tourniquet to the leg wound, which is believed to have saved the victim's life.
Williams also says the officers did not lose sight of the criminal investigation and were able to obtain the name of the prime suspect.
44-year old Durrell Dow has been arrested in the shooting.
