Woman Admits To Stealing $134K From Adirondack Resort
ELIZABETHTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — A former employee of an upscale Adirondack resort has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $130,000 from the business.
The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports 37-year-old Morgan Miller pleaded guilty Monday in Essex County Court to third-degree grand larceny.
Miller was arrested last fall. State police say she used her business credit card to make $134,000 in unauthorized purchases while working at the Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid.
Miller had been working at the resort for more than a decade when she left her job to work as operations and finance manager for the Adirondack North Country Association, a regional economic development group.
Miller faces up to six years in prison when she's sentenced on Aug. 13.
