Woman Arrested For Trying To Bring Marijuana Into Mohawk Correctional Facility

A visit to Rome's Mohawk Correctional Facility landed a Schenectady woman behind bars in the Oneida County Jail, after marijuana was allegedly found in her possession.

State Police in Marcy say Heather Hoyt, 36, was being processed before visiting an inmate yesterday, when the drugs were found.

She is charged with Promoting Prison Contraband and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

State Police were assisted in the investigation by the New York State Department of Corrections Inspector General's Narcotics Unit.
