Woman Charged With Stealing $40,000 From Local Business
A woman who had been living in Rome has been arrested for allegedly stealing over $40,000 in checks from a medical billing company in the Town of Lee.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says an investigation revealed 54-year old Mary Beth Ferlo stole several checks while she was working there and deposited the checks into her bank accounts.
The thefts were reported in June of 2016 after employees at the business noticed the checks were missing.
Ferlo was arrested in Oregon and extradited back to New York.
She's charged with two counts of grand larceny.
