BOLTON, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 26-year-old man has died and a second man is recovering after they plunged through ice while fishing on an Adirondack pond.

State police say Jeffrey Selleck, of Queensbury, and another man went ice fishing last Saturday on Edgecomb Pond in the Warren County town of Bolton, near Lake George 60 miles (96 kilometers) north of Albany.

Troopers say both men broke through the ice. Police say Selleck spent more than 90 minutes underwater before he was pulled out by fire department divers. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second 26-year-old man was rescued by a police officer and fire crews. He was taken to Glens Falls Hospital for treatment of possible hypothermia and is expected to recover.

A third man with them used his cellphone to call 911 for help.
