MOREAU, N.Y. (AP) — State police say one person is dead and five others are injured after the SUV they were riding in crashed and overturned on an upstate New York highway.

Troopers say the vehicle was traveling north on the Adirondack Northway section of Interstate 87 around 9 a.m. Sunday when the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The SUV went off the left side of the highway before re-entering the road and overturning several times in the Saratoga County town of Moreau (mor-OH'), 40 miles north of Albany.

Troopers say one person was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Four people were taken to Saratoga Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, while a fifth was airlifted to Albany Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

The name of the person who died hasn't been released.
