MOREAU, N.Y. (AP) — An upstate New York high school has raised more than $830,000 through its annual 24-hour dance marathon.

The 41st South High Marathon Dance at South Glens Falls High School in Moreau ran Saturday through Sunday with about 800 students dancing around the clock. The Post-Star reports last night's funds bring the total raised since the annual event began in 1978 to more than $6 million.

In total, the marathon raised $831,191 in support of 42 recipients — beating out last year's total of $823,614.

Among those selected for donations this year are 14 area organizations like "Woofs for Warriors," which helps pair veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder with rescue dogs.
