19-Year-Old Gets Lengthy Prison Term For 2015 Shooting Death
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A 19-year-old New York man could spend the rest of his life in prison for a fatal shooting outside of a convenience store in 2015.
A state Supreme Court justice sentenced Jordan Evans to 23 years to life in prison on Tuesday for the murder of 19-year-old Keith Brown in Rochester.
A jury convicted Evans of second-degree murder in January. Prosecutors say video footage and eyewitness testimony showed he was responsible for shooting Brown in the back of the head with a rifle as Brown walked with a friend on a June afternoon.
Evans also was sentenced Tuesday on previous weapons charges. He'll serve a two- to six-year sentence consecutive to the murder sentence.
