2 NY Men Plead Guilty To Killing Teen Over Bike

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Prosecutors say two men accused of stabbing a teen to death in western New York following a dispute over a bicycle have both admitted to the slaying.

The Monroe County District Attorney's Office said Thursday 24-year-old Jervonte Evans and 29-year-old Timothy Maxwell both pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old George Herring.

Prosecutors say Evans and Herring got into a fight at a McDonald's restaurant in Rochester last summer.

Authorities say Evans and Maxwell later tracked Herring down and a second altercation ensued. Prosecutors say Evans stabbed Herring once in the chest during the fight. Herring later died.

Authorities say Maxwell will be sentenced to seven years in prison next month. Evans will be sentenced to 14 years.
