Broome County Sheriff's officials say a child in one of two vehicles that collided on East Maine Road in Johnson City on Mother's Day is dead.

Authorities were called to the area near the Johnson City School District bus garage at 3:06 p.m. with a report that a Cadillac Escalade, traveling southeast had collided with a Toyota Camry that had been traveling northwest.

A four year old girl in the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the Camry was taken to Wilson Hospital for treatment of injuries.

The driver of the Escalade was treated at Wilson Hospital for injuries and released.

The names of the people involved in the crash are being withheld pending notification of family.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
