There's a good chance if you're watching American Idol on Wednesday night (FOX/WFXV FOX 33) that you'll see a local singer trying out at the Boston auditions.

25-year-old Kari Crimmins auditioned for a spot on the show over the summer, and family and friends believe that she'll be featured on this Wednesday's program on FOX.

"This Wednesday should be the Boston show and it was the first time the judges all came together," said Crimmins.  "If I get through this round I'm off to Hollywood."

Crimmins is the daughter of Jerry Crimmins of Ilion and Christine Pandolf of Whitesboro.  Jerry Crimmins has played in many bands throughout the area including his current stint with the band, Showtime.

"She's pretty good," said Crimmins, of his daughter.  "This is a great opportunity for her."

Crimmins graduated from Whitesboro High School and then Oneonta College.  She's currently working in the New York City area.  She was featured on one of the American Idol

promos running on FOX this week.

"This is exciting," she said.  "It's been an outpouring from everyone, and that's just from the promo airing over the last week, or so."

Another local singer, Ethan Harris of New Hartford auditioned at the Detroit try-outs.

American Idol airs on FOX Wednesday night at 8 p.m. and locally on FOX 33 WFXV.

Last year, the Utica area saw a great deal of national television time with Showtime's Shawn Smith on The Voice and illusionist, Leon and Romy on America's Got Talent.

Listen to some of Kari's music below.  We all wish her the best!
