Arrest Made In Oriskany Falls Bank Robbery

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the May 8th robbery of the Berkshire Bank in Oriskany Falls.

71-year Walter Parker of West Carthage is charged with felony counts of robbery and criminal use of a firearm.

Sheriff Rob Maciol says Parker is familiar with the area, having lived in New Hartford and Kirkland in the 1980s.

Maciol says during the course of the investigation, the Sheriff's Office recovered clothing Parker wore during the robbery.  He says DNA from the clothing led to Parker as a suspect.

Maciol says while developing information on Parker, it was learned he was a serial bank robber in 2004 when he committed multiple bank robberies in New York State.
