Boy, 11, Hospitalized After Arm Gets Stuck In Farm Machinery
TYRE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say an 11-year-old boy is hospitalized with serious injuries after he got his arm stuck in machinery at a farm in central New York.
WSTM-TV in Syracuse reports that the Seneca County Sheriff's Office says the boy was working with his father near a conveyor-style wood-planing machine around 10 a.m. Tuesday in the town of Tyre, in the Finger Lakes region.
Deputies say the boy's clothing got stuck in a chain-operated shaft, pulling his arm into the machinery.
Firefighters were able to free his arm from the machine. Deputies say he was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The accident is being investigated.
