The Assembly Transportation Committee will be adding a local face to its ranks. Local Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi is announcing his appointment to the committee.

The committee is responsible for creating legislation that manages New York State's transportation systems and makes sure they provide the best and safest travel possible.

Brindisi said he plans to more closely address school bus safety, impaired driving and driver inexperience to ensure the safety and well being of New Yorkers.

“By having a seat at the table, I will be able to more closely address some of the concerns that our communities face, including school bus safety, driver inexperience and intoxicated and impaired driving,” Brindisi said. “I’ll work to put in place measures that help save lives and reduce the severity of injuries, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, whether they are drivers, bicyclists, motorcyclists, boaters, passengers or pedestrians.”
