Brindisi Disappointed With Plan For Adirondack Corridor

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi says he is disappointed with a decision by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the NYS Department of Transportation that will remove the existing railroad tracks from Tupper Lake to Lake Placid to create a scenic trail in its place.

Brindisi says seeing the ideas and plans supported by thousands of New York residents for permanent rail service from the Utica area to Lake Placid rebuffed is senseless, and highly disappointing

He says the plan to end a successful railroad line in Tupper Lake ignores the wishes of many people to have train service extended to Lake Placid, where there are many more things for visitors to do.

Brindisi says the plan for the Adirondack travel corridor will effectively stop tourism in its tracks.
