Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi says he was encouraged by Governor Cuomo’s emphasis on continuing the improvement of the upstate economy.

Brindisi say the Governor also made some significant proposals to improve education.  He says ending the Gap Elimination Adjustment penalizing many Mohawk Valley school districts and fully funding much-needed pre-Kindergarten programs are excellent goals.

Brindisi is pleased the Governor will provide $500,000 for the Mohawk Valley Anti-Poverty Initiative that began last summer with many local partners.

And Brindisi says Cuomo's proposed tax cut for small businesses will help many people in the Mohawk Valley, since small business is the driver of our regional economy.

Brindisi says in the coming weeks, he'll carefully review the Governor's proposed budget.
