Spectators for Saturday's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Utica are being asked to bring non-perishable food.

A collection has again been organized for this year's event, to benefit Mother Marianne's West Side Kitchen. Volunteers will be making their way up and down the parade route with wheelbarrows to pick up what you've brought.

Utica's St. Patrick's Day Parade steps off at 10:00 on Saturday morning (3/12) on Genesee Street. The annual painting of the green strip along a portion of the route occurred on Friday.
