Utica, NY (WIBX) - Four years ago, award winning runner, Peter Kosgei, ran his first Boilermaker Race and came in 25th place. He says it wasn't his best time because he forgot to bring his shorts and had to run in sweat pants. His second time running the Boilermaker, he came in 14th place.

He wanted to run again last year but had to bow out at the last minute sighting the lack of proper training and a hectic school schedule. He graduated from Hamilton College this year with a degree in Chemistry. Kosgei boosts an impressive running record with 9 national titles, 11 All American titles, and a few state championships. He was planning to run the Boilermaker again this year but two back-to-back tragedy's sidelined him.

The audio report below details what happened to Peter Kosgei.
