Canastota High School To Host Special Olympics Autmn Games

Canastota, NY (WIBX) - Athletes from across Madison and Oneida Counties will convene at Canastota High School for this year's Special Olympics Autumn Games.

About 150 athletes will compete in a variety of events, including shot put, standing long jump and distance races.

An Olympic Village will also be available with crafts and activities for athletes and spectators.

The October 3rd event begins with a Parade of Athletes at 9:30 a.m., with opening ceremonies soon after. Contests begin at 10:15.

Schools participating include Hamilton, Madison, Morrisville-Eaton and the area's two BOCES organizations.
