Career Criminal Sentenced to Life in Prison

A man accused of raping a 14-year-old girl, stealing a vehicle and leading authorities on a two week long manhunt in 2013 will spend 24 years to life in New York State Prison.

41-year-old Michael Degnan was sentenced Friday, April 1, 2016 as a persistent violent felony offender.

Prior to Degnan stealing clothing from a home on Tunnel Road in June of 2013, prosecutors pointed to a criminal record that dated back to when he was a teenager and included the armed robbery of a convenience store where he shot a man.
