Utica, NY (WIBX) - Starting tomorrow, (4/27) Centro passengers will be able to purchase their bus passes online and at local TOPS Friendly Markets in Syracuse and Auburn. Steven Koegel, Director of Marketing and Communications at Centro says it's about all convenience. "We think that's something that our customers will find very convenient. They no longer have to stand in line or go downtown to pick up their passes they now can just hop on line, get on the centro website, choose the passes they need and have them mailed directly to their home," Koegel said.

Koegel says more people are using public transportation and as we gravitate toward becoming a cashless society, the move to go online makes good sense. Locally, Centro bus passes can be purchased at several different locations, including Hannaford and the Radisson Hotel in Downtown Utica.

Participating TOPS Friendly Markets are:

  • Shop City - Syracuse
  • Nottingham Road - Syracuse
  • Westvale Plaza - Syracuse
  • Airport Plaza - North Syracuse
  • East Genesee St. - DeWitt
  • Camillus Commons - Camillus
  • Route 57 (Moyers' Corners) - Clay
  • Fayetteville Towne Center - Fayetteville
  • Downer St. - Baldwinsville
  • Ferrell St. - Skaneateles
  • West Genesee St. - Auburn

Officials with Centro say Tops Friendly Markets will offer select 10-Ride passes, Unlimited Ride passes, and Call-A-Bus passes. Centro's online store will offer passes for Syracuse, Utica, Rome, Auburn, Fulton & Oswego, including its intercity service between Auburn-Syracuse and Oswego-Syracuse.  Call-A-Bus passes will also be available through the online service.
