There was a small scare at the Dolgeville Central School and Post Office earlier today.

Dolgeville Superintendent Christine Reynolds says a female employee went to the local Post Office to pick up mail and felt a burning sensation on her hands.

She then visited the school nurse who neutralized the chemical burns, which later dissipated after a few hours.

As a precaution, Hazmat was called in to check the Post Office but nothing was found.

Reynolds says she believes it was an isolated incident and not malicious.

Dolgeville Police said they cannot release any information at this time.
