Chenango County Inmate Facing Bribery Charges
A Chenango County man convicted of murdering his wife is now facing bribery charges.
The Chenango County Sheriff's Office says Ganesh 'Remy' Ramsaran allegedly offered a Corrections Officer $100,000 to help him escape from jail.
The officer immediately notified his supervisor and Ramsaran was sent back to the Chenango County Jail on $1 million bail.
Ramsaran will return to the Town of Norwich court at a later date.
Officials say the investigation is continuing with additional charges possible.
Ramsaran was convicted of second-degree murder in September in the December 2012 death of his wife Jennifer.
