Chittenango Man Arrested After Driving Drunk The Wrong Way On I-81

A 39-year-old Chittenango man has been placed under arrest following a crash on Interstate 81 in Preble, NY.

State Police say the man was driving drunk the wrong way on Interstate 81. While driving he struck a Nissan being driven by a 28-year-old man from Binghamton.

Troopers responded to the scene of the accident on December 1st at around 4:17 a.m. and the driver of the Nissan was transported to Upstate Medical Center for pain in his pelvis area. The 39-year-old driver was uninjured.

State Police say the name of the 39-year-old male will be released at a later date.  The accident remains under investigation and more charges are possible.
