YOUNGSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — A family in upstate New York was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard during a boating trip.

WGRZ-TV reports (http://on.wgrz.com/2uM6UNh ) eight family members were boating in a 14-foot (4.26-meter) aluminum vessel off Fort Niagara State Park in Youngstown Wednesday afternoon. Officials say a wave hit the boat, causing it to take on water.

A response boat crew was sent to the family after they were spotted waving for help. Four children and four adults were rescued.

Authorities say the children were waving life jackets while the adults' life jackets had been swept away.

No injuries were reported.
