Utica, NY (WIBX) - A group of local comedians want to make you laugh while raising money for a good cause ... The American Cancer Society. The show, "Comedy For A Cure" is taking place tomorrow evening, (6/22) at Headquarters located at 807 Broad Street in Utica.

Co-host of the event, David Bass Dancy, says the aim is to raise awareness about the on-going battle to find a cure for cancer. "Because a lot of us don't realize that whether you have it or not, chances are that someone close to you will at some point in your life. My mother is a colon cancer survivor, so you know, I know first hand the trials that people go through. And, I also know that getting through that tunnel there's a life ahead; you can beat it," Dancy said.

Dancy credits the American Cancer Society for helping his family overcome the disease. All the proceeds from tonight's show will be donated to ACS and organizers are asking the public to come out and support this great cause. Comedy For a Cure Stand Up Show kicks off at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are only $10.00. The show will be co-hosted by Dancy and Jenny Red.

Comedians include:

Corey Smithson, Justin Trimm and Pretty Funny People comedians Ike Buzz, AJ Foster, Phil Farda, Mike Bova and Rich Parham. Tomas D will DJ. For more information, contact Jennifer Swizenski at (315) 219-3545 or via email at, Jennifer.Swizenski@gmail.com
