Credit Card Gun, Ammunition Sales Tracked In New York State
While many New York gun owners are trying to understand what the new laws are and how they will affect them, there is more information coming out about purchases. The new gun laws in New York State have been front page news across Western New York and nationwide and has a direct impact on those considering applying for a pistol permit.
But this past weekend, the news that most gun owners were talking about was that credit card companies are starting to put gun and ammunition sales in to a separate category that some are saying is one more step toward controlling the sale of guns.
Gun owners and pro Second Amendment groups are voicing their concerns as well.
Before September 1st, there was a big surge in the amount of applicants trying to get a concealed carry in Erie County. Erie County Clerk, Mickey Kearns kept the outreach office in West Seneca open for extended hours to allow last minute applicants a chance to get their paperwork done and submitted prior to the New York law changing. If you plan to buy a guy or ammunition, be prepared for a new section on your credit card statement.
