Today, Governor Andrew Cuomo is attending the 2014 Regional Economic Development Council Awards in Albany.

This is the fourth round of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative.

A total of more than $2 billion has been awarded in the previous three rounds for job creation and community development projects, supporting the creation or retention of more than 130,000 jobs across New York State.

UPDATED; 3:09 p.m. - The Mohawk Valley Region will get $59.6 million in funding under the fourth round of Governor Andrew Cuomo's Regional Economic Development Council initiative.

The money will fund 59 projects in the area.

Included in the funding is $4 million for the NUAIR Alliance at Griffiss International Airport in Rome, one-million dollars for the Marcy Nano Center and $750,000 for infrastructure improvements at Harbor Point in Utica.
