Cuomo Signs Legislation Honoring Officer Kevin Crossley

Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed legislation designating a portion of Oriskany Boulevard in Whitesboro as the Office Kevin F. Crossley Memorial Highway.

The legislation was sponsored by Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon

Officer Crossley was a Whitesboro Police officer who lost his life in a motor vehicle accident on April 11, 2018 while on duty.

The Village of Whitesboro requested the designation of a part of Oriskany Boulevard as a way to recognize and honor the sacrifice made by Crossley, a seven-year veteran of the Police Department and a lifelong village resident.

“I am pleased that the Governor has signed this bill into law, and it was an honor to advocate for this legislation on the behalf of Officer Crossley's family and his law enforcement colleagues,” Griffo said. “Officer Crossley was a dedicated public servant who fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a police officer and serving his community. He was passionate about helping others and personified what a police officer should be.

"Officer Kevin Crossley was a beloved and dedicated police officer who lost his life protecting the community he grew up in, and for that, he deserves the utmost gratitude. His passing was a terrible tragedy, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends,"  Buttenschon said.
