Governor Andrew Cuomo has presented the second part of his "2015 Opportunity Agenda" -- a $1.5 billion Upstate New York Revitalization Competition.

The competition will replicate the Buffalo Billion initiative, a program that focused on jumpstarting the economy of the entire Western New York Region.

Seven regions, including the Mohawk Valley, are eligible to compete for one of three $500 million upstate revitalization funds.

The competition will formally launch on April 15th.

Submissions will be due by July 1st and winners will be announced in the fall.

On Wednesday, Cuomo announced a proposal for a property tax rebate that will provide relief to almost two million New Yorkers.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi says once again, the governor has shown he's committed to tackling the issues facing upstate cities like Utica and Rome with his revitalization plan.

He says the program has the potential to significantly help continue the Mohawk Valley's renaissance.

Brindisi says he's looking forward to hearing more details about the plan and working with Governor Cuomo to help Upstate New York's economic revival continue.
