AT & T's new nationally touring 3D Virtual Reality Simulator is at Sangertown Mall in New Hartford today.

The simulator demonstrates the dangers of smartphone distracted driving.

Senator Joseph Griffo says the public will be able to experience firsthand how dangerous it can be when you take your eyes off the road.

New research from AT & T shows 7-in-10 people engage in smartphone activities while driving.  That includes using social media and surfing the net.

AT & T began its "It Can Wait Campaign" five years ago to help raise awareness of the dangers of texting while driving.

The simulator will be at the mall until 4:00.
