The newly-released independent horror movie "Desolation" will make its upstate New York premiere at Rome's Capitol Theater on Friday, December 29 and Saturday, December 30 at 7:30 each evening.

The nationally-distributed film was shot in Utica and the Adirondack Mountains.

The Friday show will be preceded by a question and answer session with the film's director and producer via Skype.

The movie is not rated, but parents should use discretion in allowing children to attend due to intense situations and violence.

Tickets for the screenings of "Desolation" are $10.  Tickets will be available at the door or in advance from the Capitol box office and online at romecapitol.com.
