A pool of mosquitoes collected in western Oneida County has tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis.

It's the first positive EEE mosquito pool found in the county this year.

The virus has also been detected in mosquito pools collected in Madison, Oswego and Onondaga Counties

The County Health Department says mosquito surveillance will continue into September.  Officials say there are currently no plans for spraying.
