Farm Safety Highlights Sheriff’s Community Coffee Event
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office held its monthly "Sheriff's Community Coffee" event at Clinton Tractor on Friday, where farm safety issues were discussed.
Farmers were updated on changes made to the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws regarding the Slow Moving Vehicle symbol.
Sheriff Rob Maciol announced that the Sheriff's Office has received funding from the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee to provide reflective striping and SMV signs to farmers who need them.
The safety issue was specifically outlined in County Executive Anthony Picente's Dairy Farmer Sustainability Action Plan.
