Trenton, NY (WIBX) - This weekend is the last opportunity for area residents to visit one of the most scenic sites in Central New York. Trenton Falls Scenic Trails is open to the public for the last time this year from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m. I included Trenton Falls on my list of family, couple and wallet friendly destinations to visit as part of WIBX's Travel Series this summer. The trail has a rich geological history as well as a very interesting family history. The trail is only open to the public twice a year for a short period of time. The reason why access is limited, is to preserve the natural beauty of the area.

One section of the trail leading to the top of the water fall is currently closed due to recent storm damage. It's definitely still worth a trip. The hike is short but you walk away with an infusion of earths spectacular beauty. Enjoy!

You can learn a lot more about the site and its historical significance right here: http://town.trenton.ny.us/content/Parks/View/4
