The former ConMed building at 310 Broad Street in Utica has been sold.

Mayor Rob Palmieri announced today that Syracuse based Hayner Hoyt will buy the building pending a public hearing and approval from the Utica Common Council.

Hayner Hoyt plans to invest $4.5 million to revitalize the building, including adding 27 high-end loft apartments, office space and light manufacturing.

“I commend the Urban Renewal Agency for another job well done,” Mayor Palmieri said.  “With each vacant commercial building we sell to reputable companies and developers we are changing the demographics of our City and neighborhoods.  I welcome Hayner Hoyt to Utica and thank them for investing in Utica.”

The project is expected to be completed within six to seven months after the start of construction.
