Eli Manning and the New York Giants hammered the Washington Redskins with the help of a 27-point second quarter, en route to a 40-16 drubbing of their reeling division rivals.

Saquon Barkley tore through Washington's defense for 170 rushing yards and a score on just 14 carries. Eli Manning completed just 14 passes on the day, but connected for three touchdowns - Russell Shepard, Sterling Shepard and Bennie Fowler - as New York raced out to 40-0 lead in the third quarter.

Kyle Lauletta completed none of his five pass attempts in relief of Manning, and threw an INT.

Both Mark Sanchez and Josh Johnson saw action under center following broken legs from Colt McCoy and Alex Smith in recent weeks. Sanchez was intercepted twice, one returned for six by New York Curtis Riley. Johnson finished with a TD and a pick as the 'Skins (6-7) took their fourth straight loss and fifth in six games.

The Giants (5-8) are winners in four of their last five and will host Tennessee next.
