Governor Andrew Cuomo responded to the recent shootings in Dallas, St. Paul and Louisiana while in Utica on the "Get Screened, No Excuses" motorcycle ride for breast cancer awareness.

At the Utica stop for the "Get Screened, No Excuses" motorcycle ride stop at the Utica memorial Auditorium Governor Andrew Cuomo took a moment to address the Dallas shooting of 12 police officers and the Police shootings in Minnesota and Louisiana.

Governor Cuomo stated:

...We look at the past few days and get a sense that America's demons are challenging America's better angels. I think the country, like a person, our greatest strengths can be a weakness. Our greatest strength can be our greatest weakness. This country's greatest strength is its diversity. We're not one race, one religion. We come from all different places from across the globe.... And then we make one community from this diverse group and that diverse group brought the strength of diversity...

In a call for national unity, the Governor is directing One World Trade Center to be lit in Red, White and Blue.
