Greater Binghamton Airport Says More Passengers are Flying BGM
Officials at the Greater Binghamton Airport are reporting an increase in passengers using the field in the Town of Maine.
Passenger traffic at BGM increased from 75% to 80% from 2017 to 2018.
Airlines often use flight load factors in making decisions about service levels to certain airports.
Broome County Aviation officials say aircraft boardings increased by 4,638 passengers last year.
Commissioner David Hickling is giving at least partial credit to efforts to convince local businesses to use the Greater Binghamton Airport. It’s an effort that’s been supported and aided by the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce.
Delta currently is the only airline using Broome County’s airport with only two regular flights between Binghamton and Detroit.
United and American Airlines discontinued service to Binghamton a couple years ago
