The State Senate has passed a bill that would expand benefit coverage for volunteer firefighters who are diagnosed with various forms of cancer linked to their duties.

It's the second time the Senate has passed the legislation, which was co-sponsored by Senator Joseph Griffo.

It would expand existing coverage under the Volunteer Firefighters' Benefit Law.

Griffo is urging the Assembly to pass the legislation so it can be presented to the Governor.
