Group Fight Leads To Arrest Of Wanted Suspect

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica police arrested a suspect wanted on an outstanding warrant after responding to reports of a large fight. While on the scene, where officials say a group of about 15 people were engaged in an argument, they spotted the suspect wanted for Endangering the Welfare of a Child. As officials attempted to take 29-year-old Jovan McCovery into custody, he allegedly pushed the arresting officer and attempted to flee. McCovery's attempts were unsuccessful and he was subsequently taken into custody to face the outstanding warrant. He's also charged with Harassment, and Resisting Arrest.
