Winter travellers will have a better chance at reaching their destinations on time after departing from one Central New York city thanks to the FAA.

The Federal Aviation Administration has announced that it will pay for a new snow sweeper at Hancock International Airport in Syracuse.

The bill for the sweeper is expected to total more than $700,000.  The FAA says it will also pay an additional $50,000 for tree removal near runways.

It is hoped that the new equipment will assist in the clearing of flightways faster so that winter air travellers can get to their destinations with fewer delays.
