The Utica Comets announced today that Herb Phillipson's will now be the exclusive offsite retailer for Comets apparel and merchandise at their locations in New Hartford, Rome, Herkimer, and Oneida.

The announcement comes in conjunction with the grand reopening of their New Hartford and Rome locations.

The partnership between Herb Phillipson's and the Comets was made possible earlier this year when Guy Viti, an employee of Herb's for over 35 years, purchased the company from Gary Phillipson after his retirement.

“I am excited to see a new start with Herb’s and to carry on the legacy of Herb Phillipson’s,” said Viti. “I am thrilled to be working directly with local businesses like the Utica Comets and Utica City FC.”

Herb's will also be an exclusive offsite retailer of Utica City FC, the new Major Arena Soccer League franchise that will begin play this December at the Adirondack Bank Center.

“I’m personally excited to partner with not only another local New York State company, but also a company run by the Viti family,” said Comets President Rob Esche. “I have known [them] for many years, and their business vision aligns seamlessly with how we operate here at the Comets and Utica City FC.”
