Herkimer County Humane Society Hosting “Paws With Claus” Benefit

Herkimer, NY (WIBX) - A special guest is making his way back to the Herkimer County Humane Society to help some pets in need.

On November 10th from noon until 3 at The Polish Community Home on Washington Street, the Humane Society will host "Paws with Claus," an event for pets to have their photo taken with Santa.

Jodi Flo, with the shelter, talks about the cause.

"It is a great fundraiser, but it's really a fun thing because people that have pets love to dress them up, and Santa Claus is always there," Flo said. "There's a professional backdrop. It's a lot of fun because they bring the kids and try to get the kids and the dog and the cats all looking at the camera..."

For $10, people can get two photos, which can be picked up during the shelter's Holiday Open House on December 8th.

Flo suggests all pets be on leashes or in a carrier, to keep lines moving smoothly.

Proceeds will be used to purchase supplies for the store, including pet food and cat litter.
