Some occupants of the former IBM site at the Heron Campus in Endicott are possibly planning to move out over contamination concerns.

i3 has informed about 400 employees that the company had plans to move over concerns of exposure to trichloroethylene contamination left behind at the site by IBM.

The New York State Health Department has recently determined that once acceptable levels of TCE are now no longer considered safe.

The i3 company occupies building 18, 40, 41 and 47 on the Huron Campus.

While the company possibly has plans to flee the contamination plume, officials have indicated to employees that they plan to stay in the Greater Binghamton Area.

The change in the safety levels has not been officially released by the New York State Department of health but both i3 and another occupant of the site: BAE Systems were reportedly notified.
