Injury Plagued Giants Visit Panthers To Kickoff Week 3 Action Tonight
The banged up New York Giants (1-1) will look to tackle Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers as the defending champions hit the road for their first road game of the season as Week 3 action gets underway Thursday night.
Giants coach Tom Coughlin will have look to his depth chart for offensive production as Big Blue will be without running back Ahmad Bradshaw (neck), WR's Hakeem Nicks (foot) and Domenik Hixon (concussion) and starting RT David Diehl (knee).
Andre Brown emerged as a solid option at running back in last week's win over the Bucs, rushing for 71 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries after Bradshaw left the game. Eli Manning will have Victor Cruz at his disposal - coming off an 11 catch, 179 yard performance in week 2, to go along with a TD - but he'll also have to target seldom used wideouts Ramses Barden, Jerrel Jernigan and Reuben Randle.
The Panthers (1-1) are coming off a big upset win at home over the New Orleans Saints.
Newton threw for 253 yards and a score, while also rushing for 71 and TD in the win.
WR Steve Smith (knee) is listed as probable for tonight's game, while one of Carolina's RB's, Jonathon Stewart (ankle) will likely be a game time decision.
