I'm always looking for an excuse to not cook. Lucky for me, there is a 10 days worth of excuses... starting today!

Oneida County Restaurant Week is back from through July 15, giving you 10 days to explore some of the best local restaurants, cafés, breweries, bakeries, pubs and eateries around the area (and skip the cooking).

Even better? There are more than 70 locally owned businesses participating this year, making it the biggest Restaurant Week yet.

A Great Time to Try Somewhere New

Whether you're craving Italian, Greek, Lebanese, Vietnamese, Cajun seafood, Caribbean flavors, or classic American comfort food, Restaurant Week is all about celebrating the incredible variety of food available in Oneida County.

Some of the participating favorites include Portofino Restaurant & Events, Nadi Ayar Asian Cuisine, Phoenician, Ecuamex Deli, Beeches Manor, Tramontane Cafe, DiCastro's Brick Oven, along with dozens of other restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and breweries throughout the county.

Many locations will be offering special menus, featured dishes, cocktails, beer flights, desserts, brunch specials and other limited-time offerings created just for Restaurant Week.

Eat Your Way to Prizes

Restaurant Week isn't just about great food, though that's enough for me!

You can also take part in the Restaurant Week Passport program. Simply check in digitally when you visit participating businesses to earn points and unlock prizes as you explore restaurants across Oneida County.

Celebrate at the Finale Party

Restaurant Week wraps up on Wednesday, July 15, with a Finale Summer Party at the Saranac 1888 Biergarten in Utica.

The celebration will feature live music from Catch-22, along with food and drink specials and a chance to celebrate another successful Restaurant Week with fellow food lovers and local restaurant owners.

The Most Cajun Things to Throw on the Grill This Summer

LOOK: 20 Discontinued McDonald's Menu Items You'll Never See Again

Discontinued McDonald's items tell the story of eight decades of quiet experiments, from a pizza that took too long to cook to a lobster roll that never made financial sense. Some disappeared overnight with no explanation, others were cut to streamline operations, and a few became cultural phenomena long after they were gone.
