The New York Giants were able to shake off two early offensive mistakes and take advantage of a wild Ryan Fitzpatrick to earn their first win of the season, 30-17, over the Houston Texans at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Despite two missed chances to score in the first quarter - a fumble inside the Houston five-yard line by TE Larry Donnell, then a botched snap on a field goal attempt on their next Red Zone trip - the Giants (1-2) offense looked better than it had in the previous two defeats gashing the Texans front line for 193 rushing yards.

Rashad Jennings carried the ball 34 times for a career best 176 yards and a touchdown, and Eli Manning was 21-28 for 234 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Victor Cruz found the end zone for the first time on five catches and 107 yards. Daniel Fells caught Manning's other TD-pass.

The Giant D also looked sharper than it has, with three picks of Fitzpatrick - who finished 20-34, 292 yards and a touchdown. WR DeAndre Hopkins had a game high 116 receiving yards on six grabs.

Playing without starting RB Arian Foster (hamstring), the Texans (2-1) got 78 yards on 13 carriers from Alfred Blue.

The Giants visit Washington in a Week 4 matchup on Thursday Night Football. Houston will host the Bills next Sunday.
