A State Supreme Court Judge has imposed fines and sanctions on the owners of the Creekside Mobile Home Park in German Flatts for their contempt of court.

In November 2016, the court ordered William and Virginia Jaquish to close the park and remove an illegal wall and fill placed in the floodway of Fulmer Creek by May 31st.

In August, they were ruled in contempt of court for violating the order.

Judge Norman Seigel has ordered the, to pay a penalty of $250 a day, retroactive to June 1st and continuing daily until the court's November order is completely complied with. That would amount to $22,500 to date.

The Jaquishs' were also ordered to reimburse the town over $7,300 in attorney's fees and costs paid to their lawyers.

The Court offered the Jaquishs' the opportunity to avoid the daily penalty by immediately serving each tenant of the Creekside Park with a notice to vacate the park by October 31st.

They would also be required to apply to the Town of German Flatts and the State Department of Environmental Conservation for permits to remove the wall and fill from the Fulmer Creek floodway.
